High Seas Rally’s Run to the Sun

To celebrate the first major motorcycle rally of spring, each year for the past 80 years, the city of Daytona Beach, Florida becomes a biker heaven on earth for what has become known as Bike Week. This year’s festival of fun took place from March 5th to the 14th.

For bikers riding from snowy climes to take part in this annual rally, Daytona offered some of the best weather ever this year. Sunny skies and perfect riding temperatures were on tap for most of this run, and scooter jockeys from all over the world converged on this beach town to get their party on, Covid or no Covid.

The High Seas Rally had a booth at the world-famous Destination Daytona, one of the world’s biggest Harley-Davidson dealerships. Event-goers could stop by, check out the world’s only biker cruise of the Caribbean and even enter for a chance to win a FREE cruise with us!

From Destination Daytona, riders could take US 1 to hang at The Broken Spoke and The Iron Horse Saloon or head out to Main Street to be a part of the crowded Daytona experience. Hey, everybody has to do the “Daytona Shuffle” down the Main Street sidewalk at least once, right?

Beach Street, which used to be a party all its own with the original Daytona Harley, Carl’s Speed Shop, and endless aftermarket vendors, has now been converted to the future site of million-dollar condos save for the Indian dealership, where the parking lot is now home to the Rat’s Hole Bike Show.

There was live music of every variety for your boot-tappin’ pleasure happening just about everywhere within 20 miles of Daytona. Some of the great things you can do during Bike Week is see mind-blowing racing action and also take in the dozen or so custom bike shows. Billy Lane’s kickass Sons of Speed races is always incredible out at the New Smyrna Raceway. Besides the thrills and chills of Sons of Speed, the AFT flat track races and hooligan races at the Speedway reminded us that all customization of motorcycles began with trying to go fast. It’s all about speed.

If you attended Daytona Bike Week this year, we hope you had a blast. If not, we hope to see you there next year!
